Kristen Axline, Principal
Kristen has over 20 years experience in high-tech marketing and sales with start-ups
and industry leaders. As Chief Marketing Officer for Cenus Technologies, a manufacturer
of internet router technology, she developed and implemented an ambitious sales
and marketing plan, as well as staffing and managing the company's senior sales
force. At Tarantella, Inc., Kristen developed and directed their ASP market
strategy and development, their most successful to date, as well as strategic
relationships with IBM, Nortel, Computer Associates and others. At SCO, she
took responsibility for the small-to-medium business segment and turned a dwindling
market into a major growth sector for the company. At Sun Microsystems, Kristen
was a key member of the product team that developed and led Sun's very successful
entry into the mainstream server market. Kristen has also held management, sales
and marketing positions at Apple Computer, JSB Corporation and Microport.
Steve Spill, Principal
Steve has over 25 years of sales, marketing, alliance and consulting experience
within the high tech industry, primarily in start up and turn around situations,
working on three continents. Whilst with SCO he built a highly profitable European
OEM business and then as Director of World-Wide Enterprise Business Partners,
managed the strategic relationships with companies such as IBM, Intel and Oracle
as well as participated in industry consortia with IBM, Sun Microsystems, HP
and others. Steve has undertaken consulting roles to build a turn-around corporate
strategy, determine success criteria for entering new geographic and product
markets and build go to market plans for new products. In his early career he
held management positions with Digital Equipment, Texas Instruments, Intel Corporations
and a number of start up companies. Steve believes that successful companies
of the future will be those who understand and embrace customer requirements
and cooperative marketing with third party partners to satisfy those needs.
Rick Freedman, Principal
Rick has a successful track record during 28+ years of industry experience.
As Vice President of Sales & Marketing for LOGEC Systems, Inc., he introduced
the Australia-based company and its network & system managements products to
the U.S. market. Prior to that, Rick was VP of Sales & Marketing at Software
Pursuits, responsible for launching its file mirroring and replication software.
There he was helped the company achieve its most profitable year ever in its
25-year history. Rick was also Director of Marketing for Specialix, Inc., a
UK-based manufacturer of network communications hardware and software products.,
building its fledgling U.S. office into the company's most rapidly growing market
segment. Rick has also held management, sales, marketing and technical positions
as Apple Computer, SCO, Ross Systems and Xerox.
